Skin is the organ that comes into contact with the rest of the world. Skin is the largest organ of the body, with a total area of about 20 square feet. Our skin protects us from many harmful rays, microbes, and permits the sensation of touch. It also helps to regulate body temperature. It is like an insulating shield guarding the body against extreme damaging of sunlight and harmful chemicals.

1. Wash your skin

Wash your face at least two times a day. It will remove dirt, oil, and other unwanted debris from your face. Washing your face regularly will help you to remove the dead skin cell and gives a fresh look to your skin. Try to use clean napkins for drying your skin after a wash.

2. Avoid touching your face

Studies of found that people probably touch their faces more than 16 to 20 times an hour. Touching your face increases the risk of infection with the cold and viruses and the new coronavirus. Always wash your hands before touching your skin and try to avoid touching your face as much as possible.

3. Use herbal face wash

We all know our face, in particular, is more delicate than the skin on the rest of our body. We all know how harmful chemicals and parabens are for the skin that's why we should use chemical-free face wash for our skin. Do not use harsh shops on the face but try using the herbal face wash for cleansing. Face washes are gentler on your skin than soaps.

4. Use moisturizers

A moisturizer hydrates and softens the skin and prevents water loss from its surface. Always apply moisturizer twice a day after washing your face for best results. Add oil-free beauty products to your skincare regimen to get glowing skin.

5. Always wear sunscreen

Sunscreen minimises the harmful rays of UV rays into the skin and which brings a variety of skin disorders like premature aging and tanning. You should wear sunscreen every day while going outside. It prevents damage of our skin to harmful rays and sunburn. Always buy good quality sunscreen between SPF 30 to 50, which offers adequate sunburn protection.

6. Avoid hot water

Using hot water makes your skin dry, also causes it to skin age quicker. Hot water strips out the necessary natural oils from your skin and hence use lukewarm  water for drinking instead of using it directly on your face. Daily intake of warm water will moisturize your skin without damaging the natural oils of the skin.

7. Avoid High Glycaemic foods

Sugar and sugary drinks, white bread, potatoes are some high glycaemic index foods that elevate hormone that increases the activity of the Oil Gland in the skin and ultimately contribute to the formation of acne. It also increases the risk of developing type 2 diabetes and cardiovascular diseases.

8. Use low GI foods

Fruits like orange, apricot, blueberries are some skin-friendly foods. Green vegetables are also included in low glycaemic foods. Adding low GI in your diet will surely give you a good result within a month.

9. Stay Hydrated

Always drink plenty of water to keep yourself hydrated. Drinking 2 to 3 liter water per day keeps your skin healthy which removes dirt from the skin, and keeps skin glowing. If you want to fight wrinkles and give your skin a healthy glow then doesn’t allow yourself to get dehydrated. Drink and adequate amount of water and use hydrating skin products. Eat foods that are rich in water.

10. Get enough sleep

“Get a beauty sleep” some might think that it's a catchy phrase but beauty sleep is a real thing. While sleeping, the skin makes new collagen, which prevents sagging and helps us heal the wrinkles. Getting 7 to 8 hours of sleep can make skin healthy and glowing.
